Ari's Writing

Ari Painful Writer

This list is fairly long and will likely get longer.
I encourage you to use your browser's "find" tool if you're looking for something specific here.

If you're curious about the writing in the background on the home page,
it's the beginning of my work-in-progress story "Teammates".
You can read the part that's used in the background here. I have since edited that part of the story,
but I did not change the background of the site's home page.

Teammates

My unfinished story about a couple young people dreaming of a better life.
The story starts with a couple of run away kids. It eventually fast forwards to them being
young adults who are still wanting to escape difficult situations. It's told through the first-person perspective
of a girl named Jinx.

Story Book Character

A work-in-progress story I'm writing for my bestie!
The story features a protagonist named Juda. He is in a fantasy universe with realistic fiction elements.
The city he lives in is bordering distopia, and desperately needs a hero.

The Stuffios

Stories that include human characters that are based off of my stuffed animals.

What is your most prized possession and why??

"What is your most prized possession and why??" was a prompt on a school assignment I had in high school.
If you like my "The Stuffios" series, this includes a description of the stuffed animals that the characters are based on.

Penguins

A very short one-shot about a couple of penguins. I intended it as a metaphor for being disabled,
and more specifically, physcially disabled. It is, however, open to interpretation, and you are free to relate even if you are not disabled,
or even if you are disabled in a different way. The message is important and true even if you aren't disabled.

Vampire Stories

Stories that include vampires.

Unconditionally (Lovers, brothers, and others)

Pieces of writing dedicated to people I love. A lot of them are mushy, you've been warned.
They're not all to romantic interests (past or present). Many are endearing pieces written to good friends of mine, etc.
This series is called "Unconditionally" because I love them unconditionally.

Scribbles and Scratches

Various pieces of writing akin to journal entries. They're some-what poetic and mostly on the shorter side.

Memoirs And Other Nonfiction

Stories of things that really happened. Not to say that some other things didn't really happen.
Some of the other writing also references real events. But this is where I'll put the lengthier and more story-like recalls of things.

Spirit Week and The 2020 Challenge Articals

These are articals about spirit week and The 2020 challenge that I wrote when I was on the school newspaper in high school.

The end is near...are you prepared for 12th grade? How has the coronavirus quarantine hurt or helped you?

"The end is near...are you prepared for 12th grade? How has the coronavirus quarantine hurt or helped you?" was a prompt on a school assignment I had in high school. It features a commentary about how during Covid-19 there was many accomadations made for people to be able to carry on with their lives, while disabled people who could have used the same accomadations all along were denied them before now. I use the word "crazy" in the term "stir crazy" in this piece. I'd like to say that generally I try to avoid this word, as it can be arguably offensive. I apologize if it does cause offense. Additionally, I'd like to point out that this writing isn't perfect. There's some grammar errors among other issues with it, but I've chosen not to edit it before putting it here. I'd like to keep it as is.

What was the biggest challenge you faced during quarantine?

"What was the biggest challenge you faced during quarantine?" was a prompt on a school assignment in high school. Similar to the "How has the coronavirus quarantine hurt or helped you?" question, it features a commentary about how during Covid-19 there was many accomadations made for people to be able to carry on with their lives, while disabled people who could have used the same accomadations all along were denied them before now. I've chosen not to edit this one either. While there are grammar errors, I would like to keep this piece as I wrote it.
