Something that makes me laugh recently, and often, is my friends. These friends are online (online friends being a whole concept that I won't get into).
I feel it's worth acknowledging, though, that I do know some people find online friends a strange concept.
It's really not that different than a "long-distance relationship" or a penpal. Infact, imagine a long-distance relationship but it's a friendship instead...
I talk to these friends everyday. We joke, we hang out, we play games... sometimes we talk on the phone too which is weird, but also fun, because I really hate talking on the phone most of the time, but on the other hand I love talking to them and we have a good time... Different time zones and just the fact that no one sleeps is sometimes a problem as I already talk loud and I don't think my parents usually appreciate hearing me laughing on the phone at 11, 12, 1+ in the morning.
I'm very thankful for these friends and they are definitely "something" that keeps me laughing.
As for an unexpected interest lately, one of my friends has been showing me songs by an artist named Rema. He has quite a few good songs (okay, I've heard six of them).
It was, I think, more unexpected for my friend than for me that I liked them because some of the songs use pidgin or are in Igbo and/or Yoruba... I didn't understand all the words in some of them but I still liked how they sounded.
I wasn't super surprised that I liked them, I like almost all music. I don't know if there's a type that I don't really like... maybe opera? I can appreciate an opera, I suppose, but probably wouldn't choose to listen to one.
